Chicago Photographic Arts Society (CPAS)
Reception: September 14 - 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the NSYMCA Lobby
The Chicago Photographic Arts Society (CPAS) was established in 2013 by committed photographers associated with the Chicago Botanic Garden photography program. The mission of CPAS is to advance the artistic visions and growth of its members. It meets regularly for educational sessions and critical image reviews. CPAS brings its artists’ works to the public via biannual group exhibitions and a robust presence on social media including Instagram, Facebook and a dedicated website.
CPAS is comprised of 30 members whose range of photographic interests include abstract, landscape, still life, portraiture and more. Its members seek to find beauty in the natural or constructed world using digital workflow and, in some cases, film or manual techniques. Its membership includes current teachers of photography and individuals from varied professional backgrounds ranging from graphic design to law to education. Many members have shown their works in national and international juried exhibitions.
